The Google keyword search tool is free and it is fantastic!

Let’s start with what is a ‘keyword search’ and why you need to get good at understanding how use this basic tool.

Whenever you use a search engine like Google you type in a keyword so the search engine can find what you want it to find.

People are surprisingly consistent in what they will and won’t use to search particular topics (more information click here). That said gorups of people may well have different names for different things. For example in Australia most people call an insulated box used to keep food and drinks cold when you are having a pinic an ‘Esky’. But ‘Esky’ is actually a brand name. In New Zealand these insulated boxes are called ‘Chilly Bins’ and in the US they are called an ‘Ice box’. Logically if you want to sell an insulated box in the US using the term ‘Esky’ probably won’t sell you too many.

So Google has invented a keyword spy tool called the ‘Google Adwords Keyword Tool’.

This keyword tool is absolutely free to use. All you have to do is sign up for a free Google account and you are away.

So this very powerful keyword search tool allows you to type in any search you like and find out how many people are using the same search.

You can also use it s reverse keyword search tool because in addition to it telling you how many people are using the search you type it also gives you a list of 50 other search words or phrases which are similar to the one you originally typed in.

It also acts as keyword search volume tool to tell you how many local and global searches are bienig made for the entire list of keywords and keyword phrases it finds.

With each of the keywords or keyword phrases listed you can also click on the link and see just how many competitors you have to beat to rank in the number one spot for that keyword or keyword phrase. So all-in-all it is a little belter when it comes to a free tool.
