What is a Cash Cow?

In Australia a Cash Cow a is a business or way of making a continuous income with little ongoing effort. The idea is you spend a period of time, money and effort setting up the Cash Cow and then it provides you an ongoing income for years to come. The time effort and money required to build a cash cow does not always reflect the size of the ‘Cow’ you create but as a general rule the bigger the ‘Cow’ the more income it generates.

So whilst we are on the subject of ‘Australian sayings let me just drop in a couple more:

• Under promise and over deliver.
• The truly talented make the ordinary look extraordinary!

Under promise and over deliver:

Simply put if you promise to deliver a service or product in 3 weeks and you manage to get it to the customer in just 2 weeks you have under promised and over delivered. At the heart of every great company this philosophy is worn a badge of honor and is the mantra by which everything they do is based.

These guys do a fantastic job of just that:

• Order cosmetics or perfume for men and women.
• You pay a fraction of the price you would in a store.
• It is delivered on time.
• It comes gift wrapped.
• Brand name products you know and trust.

So if you need a gift or just want to save a bundle you don’t even have to leave your desk top. Every thing they promise the consumer they deliver.

The truly talented make the ordinary look extraordinary:

If you are a golf nut like me living on the Gold Coast you will know that to hit a 20 yard chip shot over a bunker is no more or less difficult than hitting a 20 yard chip shot to any green. It is a relatively simple shot regardless of whether there is a bunker in front of you or not. The players with the best ‘short games’ in the world make this very simple shot look extraordinary. As a golfer I could watch a Tom Watson or a Ernie Els play this shot 1000 times and still be amazed.

So how does this all fit in to creating a Cash Cow?

A cash cow takes something quite ordinary and makes it into something extraordinary to generate an ongoing income for the inventor (e.g. Post-it-notes, paper clips, staples etc.) Ordinary looking, everyday items we all use and know that someone once invented and that now-a-days millions make money selling. So building an online Cash Cow is going to be pretty much the same process:

1. Find a product.
2. Communicate the fact that you have the product.
3. Sell the product.

The question remains is that if it is so simple then why isn’t everyone doing it? Well the short answer is that millions of people all round the world are doing just that i.e. buy and selling products online. In fact in many cases they don’t even buy the product they simply have it sent from the supplier to the customer which saves enormously on the cost to the customer for the product or service. Problem is that most of what you see when you first start trying to build an on line Cash Cow is a huge pile of BS and not a Cash Cow at all.

So let’s look at what you need to look for using a simple example:

• If I offered you $20 000 now or an amount of $1 doubling every day for 20 days which would you take? If you said $20 000 up front you would have cost yourself over $500 000 in just 20 days (Day 1 =$1 / Day 2 = $2 / Day 3 = $4 … Day 20 = Over $520 000)
• Whilst option 1 may provide instant gratification the second option is a far more profitable Cash Cow.

So much of what is available to new starters in online businesses is a case of Over promise and under supply i.e. follow my simple plan requiring little or no effort on your part and you will be making enough to by a dream car just like this one in a few months. Just give me $97. Unfortunately that sort of marketing appeals to the ‘greed’ or ‘desperation’ inside of people and doesn’t really paint an accurate picture of how most people actually make money online. There are two programs I really like. In fact I like them so much I have actually used my own money to buy each. The reason I like both is because both under promise and over supply.

The first program called Mass Profit Sites:

is very, very simple. In fact it is so stupidly simple it is quite strange that you have to bother doing anything at all. No doubt there is a reason but as to what I have not quite worked out. In simple terms with this program you build one new website every day and literally all you do is enter passwords and click your mouse 5 times. THAT”S IT!!! The logic is equally simple:

1. Every day the program trolls through Clickbank and Amazon (two of the biggest online suppliers in the world) and selects the most popular products they are selling on that day.
2. You add your information.
3. The program builds you a one page website that has all of the Search Engine Optimisation done for you and publishes that website for you.
4. Next day you do the same again.
5. 365 days time you have $365 websites so that if each is averaging just over $1 in profits a day you have a Cash Cow.

There are some training videos and seems that there are more coming all the time. But the idea is to keep this really simple. I am trying a few ‘free tricks’ to see if I am able to speed up the process but essentially I am doing what they say and letting the program stand up on its ‘own two feet’ so to speak.

The Second Program called Consumer Wealth System:

This system comes from a couple of ‘Aussie lads’ who again are not afraid to ‘tell it like it is’. Unlike the first program this one is far more hands on and the training is far more extensive. No BS form the start:

• You will need about 3 hours to get up and running if you are starting with ZERO knowledge.
• An hour to an hour and a half a week to maintain.
• Replace your income in a year if you just do the minimum sooner if you can allocate more resources.

For the price it is outstanding value for the training side of things alone. My only hope is that they haven’t priced it too low and therefore lose people who think that good software and training must cost a fortune.
